2007 BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

London ON - Finalists in the London Chamber of Commerce 2007 Business Achievement Awards have now been selected after a rigorous judging process.
This year’s finalists are from a broad spectrum of the London business community ranging from manufacturing, financial services, information technology, and the service sector. Between them, the 14 finalists employ almost one thousand full and part time staff and have networks of clients and suppliers across the country and throughout the world.

“I am always impressed by the outstanding quality of nominees,” says Gerry Macartney, CEO & General Manager of the London Chamber of Commerce. “I congratulate each company that has been selected as a finalist.”

Finalists in the 5 categories wowed the independent judging panel with their diverse range of exceptional achievements.

“The judges have been very impressed by the efforts of local businesses to continue to strive for excellence in their various fields,” says Pete McMahon, Business Achievement Awards Chair. “The applicants vying for awards this year are absolutely outstanding. There are some great businesses out there and selecting from the list of finalists is going to be a challenge for our team of judges.”

The judging panel assessed 53 entries to determine the 14 finalists in the 5 award categories. Awards for Business of the Year, Small and Large category, each have four finalists while the other three categories boast two.

The winners will be revealed during the 24th Business Achievement Awards gala at the London Convention Centre on the evening of Wednesday March 21st. This black tie optional event attracts over 1,200 of London’s business community and media and is often referred to as London’s Academy Awards of business. New this year in celebration of the London Chamber’s 150th anniversary, is the Corporate Icon Award. This will be awarded annually to a corporation that has demonstrated particular excellence or achievement in a certain aspect of business, making either an immediate impact on, or a substantial long-term contribution to, the economic progress of our community. The recipient of this award will be nominated and determined by ballot by Chamber Board of Director members.
