The Autoflex Loader Solves a Hot Labour Issue for Tier 1 Suppliers

LONDON, ON, May 29, 2007 – Manufacturers now have a cost effective solution to maximize the value of their plant labour related to bin unloading. Using off-the-shelf components from vision industry leaders combined with a Motoman robotic arm, the Autoflex Loader™ provides a much needed economical solution to common labour issues.

A full-scale 3D demonstration of this technology solution by JMP, Motoman, Shafi and Cognex will be showcased at the International Robots and Vision (IRV) Show in Chicago, Illinois, June 12-14, 2007 (Motoman Booth #1423). Motoman's MotoSight 3D vision package used in the AutoFlex Loader cell utilizes vision components from Shafi and Cognex, industry leaders in vision software and systems respectively. Previously available only in Canada, the IRV Show marks the first open release of the product to the US market.

“Our customers have experienced immediate benefits with the loader,” indicates Ken McLaughlin, Director of Flexible Manufacturing Solutions at JMP Engineering. “It has a low initial capital investment and offers flexibility for future line changes, which has been very attractive to Tier 1 suppliers competing in this global automotive market.” The IRV Show is being held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Il. (www.robots-vision-show.info).
