Canada will offer the best mix of business factor in the world in the next five years, according to a recent study by the Economist Intelligence Unit. In jumping from fourth place in the last survey to first place in the latest one, Canada unseated the United States, which was deemed the best spot for business from 1998 to 2002. According to the study, Canada's high marks for the period of 2003-2007 are a reflection of its solid infrastructure, the political stability brought on by a recent defeat of the separatist government in Quebec, and its welcoming environment for foreign trade and commerce.
