London's Only French-Language College Making Great Strides

London, Ontario – In the coming months and years, employers in the area can count on competent bilingual graduates thanks to Collège Boréal, the only French-language College that offers instruction in Southwestern Ontario. In just 18 months of operation, the College has doubled its student body to 120, surpassing enrolment objectives.

"Our courses are adapted to the realities of a labour market that needs French-Language skills. Our teaching is conducive to quick, efficient learning and meets a definite need for London area employers," says Diane Dubois, the College's Director of Community and Business Services.

London employer, Johan Couttenier, and Executive Director of the Regional Community Centre, found out first-hand that Collège Boréal delivers. "It's an educational institution that makes a special effort to adapt its training services to the real needs of employers as well as employees. This flexibility, combined with quality training, means we can count on very good results."

For Marcela Miller, a student currently enrolled in French as a Second Language II, Collège Boréal meets a vital need in the region. "It was important for me to learn to speak French, because I wanted to improve my job prospects. The learning program is very fast, and I was able to get results really quickly. I learned much more than I expected."

In London, Collège Boréal offers specialized programs, including French grammar, business French, French as a second language certificate, French conversation, French improvement for health professionals, first aid, computer science, and customized business training.

The College is still accepting enrolments for the winter session. Interested students are encouraged to contact Monique Lancry at (519) 451-5194 or toll-free at 1 866 445-4003 or by email at monique.lancry@borealc.on.ca.

Established in 1995, Collège Boréal has earned a reputation as one of the province's premier colleges, continually breaking new ground with its innovative technology-based approach. It ranks among Ontario's top colleges in terms of employer and graduate satisfaction. Collège Boréal provides French-Language instruction and training to Central, Southwestern and Northern Ontario, which covers 85% of the province's land mass.
