LRMC Has Re-Structured

LRMC met on Wednesday November 17th to finalize a proposal to re-structure the Council. The new structure consists of a smaller LRMC Steering Committee and an enlarged LRMC Network. This new structure has many advantages including a faster, more responsive decision making body in the Steering Committee and an opportunity to reach out to the larger manufacturing and manufacturing support sectors through the LRMC Network.

Denis Crane, Chair of LRMC, noted that "this new format is an effort to recognize the increasing interest in participation from manufacturers and others in London. It will enable LRMC to become a more inclusive network of manufacturing supporters."

The LRMC Steering Committee, composed mainly of manufacturers, will solicit opinion and respond to immediate inquiries, decide on LRMC priorities, resource allocation, and initiatives to be undertaken.

The Steering Committee will connect all members together so that information can be shared throughout the LRMC Network.

The LRMC Network, composed of manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, support organizations and other interested individuals, will provide information, advice, resources and assistance in support of manufacturing initiatives.

Individual LRMC Network members will become engaged as issues or initiatives of interest arise as well a through regular manufacturer networking events.

The LRMC Steering Committee for 2004/2005 includes:

Denis Crane, County Heritage Forest Products
Dave Grimshaw, McCormick Canada
Steve Glickman, London Economic Development Corporation
David Gurnham, Deloitte
Paul Hogendoorn, OES Inc.
Dave Lamoureux, Siemens VDO Automotive
Larry MacKinnon, London Economic Development Corporation
Reg Wilson, Abuma Manufacturing
Michael Woods, Sparton Electronics

Thanks to everyone who participated in the restructuring process.
