In-house: The company has a spectrometer capable of analyzing 18 chemicals to .001 percent. A record of each pour is retained. Brinell hardness is routinely done. Castings are cleaned in a tumblast wheelabrater and visually inspected in 3 areas before shipment. 2. Sublet: Test bars are sent to laboratories where a mechanical test is performed to verify the iron meets the ASTM specifications.
