Incorporated in 1983, Nokee Kwes goal is to be a leader in providing culturally sensitive employment, training, and educational/literacy programs. We have always been at the forefront of providing these services to all unemployed and underemployed individuals, Native and Non-Native. The Career Directions program provides personal career development guidance, including standardized assessment, to unemployed and underemployed individuals (from youth through to age 65) in a holistic environment. The program is designed to give participants a renewed sense of control over their career direction, increased confidence in their career search, opportunities to connect with local employers, training opportunities (including certifications), access to provincially funded programs (i.e. second career, apprenticeship, etc.), and programs/services for employers (including training subsidies). Open to everyone, the Native Education Center provides basic educational and literacy services to adult Native and Non-Native learners, assists learners with upgrading their academic qualifications for entry into post-secondary school, trades or apprenticeship programs, and employment, incorporating skill based activities. The program also offers opportunities to learn about Native culture and traditional teachings. Skills Training avenues encompass three different training programs: Customer Service, Master Auto Advisor, and Computer Skills. Customer Service is a 27-hour, culturally sensitive/relevant (Aboriginal) training program designed to prepare learners for entry-level work in the Customer Service Field. Master Auto Advisor is a pre-apprenticeship training program designed to give learners the skills and experience they will need to succeed in an automotive customer service dealership role. Computer Skills offers courses in Microsoft Office applications.
