Join us on April 19 as James Egan, in a discussion with Jo-Anne VanStrien, review the three periods of crisis in modern globalization, and outline the importance of stimulating cross-border business movement to best address global supply chain repair and modification in the face of on-going disruptions.
A macro-economic consideration will be offered as to the importance of supply chain establishment and flexibility as a driver in shaping our global economy, and the central role immigration and mobility policy has played in this context. With this background in mind, additional context will be provided as to factors leading to the present “shortage economy”, and the competing approaches offered by protectionism/self-reliance and diverse global supply, all in consideration of recent COVID-19-related and political upheaval and trauma.
We hope you can join us as our speakers discuss concrete policy choices that could shape the new priorities for global mobility and immigration.
