Welcome to the 21st annual Doors Open London (DOL) weekend!
This year’s theme, Designing the Forest City, will enable participants and attendees to consider how design impacts their lives. The festival aims to provide a range of interest areas and activities to ensure that all community members can understand their curiosities and embrace opportunities for public engagement.
Participating sites, organizations, artists and performers will highlight how design has impacted their organizations, the way they tell their stories, or the everyday lives of Londoners. They may spotlight local historical designers and contemporary creatives, exhibit local inventions, show off old uniforms or costumes, highlight the architectural style of their building, or take an in-depth look at how their programs are devised. DOL focuses on enhancing interactions between the local community, artists and the culture sector.
As a result of the open nature of the festival, thousands of Londoners will be able to discover the city’s cultural offerings that stem from its diversity and history and develop their own arts and heritage interests.
