Globally recognized for his expertise in point-of-care ultrasound, Rob co-authored the acclaimed textbook Point-of-Care Ultrasound and actively educates future healthcare professionals in advanced diagnostics and critical care. His work at Deep Breathe exemplifies a commitment to innovation and excellence in modern healthcare.
Dr. Saumik Biswas – CEO, President & Founder, Tenomix
Dr. Saumik Biswas is the CEO, President, and founder of Tenomix, a medtech company focused on improving pathology workflows, optimizing cancer care, and reducing healthcare costs. Saumik completed his PhD in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Medical Innovation Fellowship at Western University, where he co-founded Tenomix. Recognized as one of London’s Top 20 in their 20s by Business London, Saumik has led Tenomix to secure over $4M in funding and establish clinical partnerships with leading hospitals, driving innovation in cancer care.
Dr. Oleksiy Zaika – CTO & Co-Founder, Vessl Prosthetics
Dr. Oleksiy Zaika is the CTO and co-founder of Vessl Prosthetics, a medtech company delivering adjustable prosthetic solutions to improve mobility for amputees. A Western University alumnus with a PhD in anatomy, Oleksiy has held leadership roles as an instructor, innovation fellow, and co-founder of a consulting group chapter. He is committed to advancing medtech in Canada and driving Vessl’s mission to transform prosthetic care.

Arash Samimi, PhD, is a physicist and the founder of Eliomedica, a medical device strategy firm specializing in market entry, investor relations, and regulatory affairs. Arash’s experience spans a diverse range of technologies, including robotic surgery, imaging, remote patient monitoring and in vitro diagnostic devices.
