Regional electricity planning has kicked-off in the London Area electrical region to ensure a reliable supply of electricity, and to support local growth and economic development. Regional planning looks at the unique needs of each region, and considers wire and non-wire options and innovative resources to meet the needs. The London Area electrical region generally encompasses the municipalities of Oxford County, Middlesex County, Elgin County, City of London, City of St. Thomas and part of Norfolk County.
The IESO is hosting a webinar to provide an overview of the electricity planning process and seek input on a draft Scoping Assessment Outcome Report in order to determine the most appropriate planning approach going forward to meet electricity needs. All interested parties are invited and encouraged to participate including, but not limited to, local municipalities, Indigenous communities, businesses, stakeholders and members of the general public.
