The Peter Jaffe Lectures on Ending Domestic Violence

Dates

-

Western University’s Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children (CREVAWC) invites you to attend the fourth annual Peter Jaffe Lectures on Ending Domestic Violence.

Dr. Cathy Humphreys will deliver this year’s keynote, which is titled, “Keeping children visible in domestic violence research, policy and practice: What have we learned in 30 years?”

Prior research on children’s experiences of living with domestic violence uncovered the need to focus on preventing, responding and advocating for children in this context. How successful has research, policy and practice in this area been? Have we failed these children? What would be the hallmarks of success? This lecture will explore these questions while charting a path forward.

After the event, audiences will hear a question-and-answer period led by Dr. Peter Jaffe with a reception to follow.

The event will be recorded and made publicly available on the Jaffe Lectures webpage. Previous recordings can be found if you scroll toward the bottom: https://www.learningtoendabuse.ca/resources-events/jaffe-lectures.html

He's influenced generations of researchers, mental health professionals, lawyers, judges, school systems, families and children.
