December - London Pro Musica Choir Artistic Director Paul Grambo
The London Pro Musica Choir was founded in 1970 and was the first, and remains the oldest, unaffiliated concert choir in London with a current membership of approximately 45 singers (SATB mixed choir). London Pro Musica Choir’s vision is to pursue high-quality artistic choral performances of a diverse selection of music to inspire and entertain current and future audiences.
LPMC presents three or four concerts a year, of varied repertoire, ranging from classical choral favourites (Messiah, Elijah, Carmina Burana) to modern sacred and secular music of different cultures, and occasionally delving into other genres (Broadway, jazz, and popular standards). Over the years LPMC’s artistic directors have often selected music from Black, Islamic, Hebraic, East Indian, African and Indigenous traditions, with coaching and musicians from those traditions as guides. The ability to adapt our singing style to these varieties of music remains one of the strengths of the choir.
Our Artistic Director/Conductor is Paul Grambo. In addition to his position as Artistic Director of London Pro Musica Choir, Paul is the conductor of the Canadian Celtic Choir, and a chorister and soloist with the Grammy-winning and Juno-nominated The Elora Singers.
