Alliance iCommunications is growing, poised to add 100 jobs. It will be moving to Galleria Mall from it's current location on St. George Street. It's new home will be in a 20,000-square-foot home in the northwest portion of Galleria. This doubles the space they occupy now. Co-owner Sheila LeClair said it is expected to grow from 200 to about 300 employees in the summer.
The move was made necessary due to an increase in sales of about 20 per cent a year for the last five years.
"That is a trend we expect will continue," said LeClair. "One of the biggest assets we have is we do not try be a big box call centre, we customize and react to our clients and that's why they have stayed with us."
Landing Alliance comes after the mall has attracted Fanshawe College, CDI College, CIBC, Honeywell and Stevenson and Hunt Insurance within the last three years, said Paul Reid, mall manager.
The mall now has about 150,000 square feet vacant of the 600,000 that was available, excluding the central library.
Galleria is demolishing about a half-dozen stores to make room for Alliance. Alliance also has a 100-person call centre in Chatham.
