Another New Family Doctor for London

March 17, 2006 - More welcome news for thousands of Londoners without primary health care. Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco is pleased to announce one more new family doctor - bringing London’s total number of recent physician arrivals to nine. Dr. Omer Chaudhary, a 2005 graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s residency program has returned to London from Toronto to join the AIM Health Group. Dr. Chaudhary has just opened his new practice at the AIM Centre located at 302-235 North Centre Road in Masonville and he is accepting new patients. “We’re delighted Dr. Chaudhary has chosen London for his new practice," says Mayor DeCicco. "Having attended Western, he has grown to love our community and wants to make it his home, which is great news! We’re now just one step away from our original goal to recruit 10 net new family doctors to London, but the need continues, so our efforts will continue as well.” Ongoing recruitment by the City of London’s Family Doctor Recruitment Specialist and the Mayor’s Health Care London Task Force is showing tremendous success. Last fall, Dr. Shailendra Ziradkar, Dr. Franklin Warsh and Dr. Robert Axford-Gatley all moved to London to join the Bradley Medical Centre, while Dr. Mohamed Izzeldin signed on with the AIM Health Group. In January, it was further announced that Dr. Monzur Naher and Dr. Jay Geddes were also joining the AIM Health Group, while Dr. Jeffrey Kelland is launching his practice at the Bradley Medical Centre in April and Dr. Blake Bowler is joining the Wonderland Road Family Medical Centre in May.
