<STRONG>Another New Family Doctor for London</STRONG>

More welcome news for thousands of Londoners without primary health care. Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco is pleased to announce another new family doctor - bringing London’s total number of recent physician arrivals to ten.

Dr. Alastair Zachary Bayfield, a native of Ottawa and a 2006 graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s residency program has just opened a new fulltime family practice at the Highbury Medical Clinic located at 1345 Huron Street (at Highbury Avenue). Patient registration forms may be picked up at the Clinic, as well as Shoppers Drug Mart at the same location.

Dr. Bayfield previously obtained his medical degree from the University of Ottawa and also holds a degree in engineering from Stanford University. “We’re delighted Dr. Bayfield has chosen London for his new practice," says Mayor DeCicco. "Having attended Western, he has grown to love our community and wants to make it his home, which is great news! And, although the arrival of Dr. Bayfield marks the completion of our original goal to recruit 10 net new family doctors to London, our efforts will continue and more positive results are expected in the coming months.”

Ongoing recruitment by the City of London’s Family Doctor Recruitment Specialist and the Mayor’s Health Care London Task Force is showing tremendous success. To date, Drs. Franklin Warsh, Shailendra Ziradkar, Robert Axford-Gatley and Jeffrey Kelland all joined the Bradley Medical Centre, while Drs. Mohamed Izzeldin, Monzur Naher, Jay Geddes and Omer Chaudhary signed on with the AIM Health Group. In addition, Dr. Blake Bowler joined the Wonderland Road Family Medical Centre.

Londoners without a current family doctor are encouraged to pick up patient applications at any of the following medical centre locations:
