Headquartered in London, Arctic manufactures and distributes blades across all of Canada & the United States. The company was founded in 1969 and currently has 26 employees. With winter just around the corner, “we are anxiously awaiting the first snowfall” says Dan Armstrong, President of Arctic Snowplows. The company’s website even features a real-time countdown to December 22nd, reminding us that snowplow season is quickly approaching.
Arctic has built a reputation of offering a durable product that is supported by their 7 year warranty. All of Arctic’s competitors offer warranty’s of 5 years or less. “In an industry that is difficult to differentiate yourself, Arctic is always looking for ways to reduce the cost to the end user” says Armstrong, adding that their lasting product ultimately requires considerably less maintenance than their competitors.
Arctic’s unique galvanized coating process plays a key role in the durability of Arctic’s plows, with other manufacturers in the industry still using powder coating. The galvanizing technique provides an extra layer of protection on the equipment and is able to reach hollow spots that are typically prone to corrosion. This superior resistance to abrasion and water means Arctic’s plows are virtually maintenance-free.
