LONDON, ONT: The best student entrepreneurs will compete for up to $10,000 to kick start their ventures at the 3rd annual ‘Seed your Startup’ business pitch competition hosted by BizInc
What:Seed your Startup encourages the transition from entrepreneurial ideas to formalized action plans. Over 40 business proposals were submitted by students from Western University and Fanshawe College. All pitches presented are open to public
Where:Mustang Lounge in the University Community Centre, Western University
When: Wednesday April 9, 2014, 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. After Party at the Spoke 5:00 p.m.- 6:00p.m., winners will be announced
4 minute startup idea pitches in the $500 category:
• 2:05 p.m. – Okwaho Aboriginal Economic Development Network, social network connecting Canadian Aboriginal business interests with government, domestic, and international entities
• 2:10 p.m. – Probiotic, unique treatment for gluten sensitivity
• 2:15 p.m. – Movement Apparel, clothing company donating per cent of sales to customer-chosen charities
• 2:20 p.m. – AggCloud, geo-database offering secure storage for precision agriculture data
• 2:25 p.m.– Connecting Kitchens, Rescue homesick students with food from home
Best Startup Operating pitches in the $10,000 category
• 2:30 p.m. – aiMED, software company offering customized design platform solutions for research studies
• 3:00 p.m. – dpms., socially conscious, high quality, and locally-made lifestyle brand
• 3:30 p.m. – Kaleid Snow Gear, inventing minimalistic, multi-purpose snowboarding guards
• 4:00 p.m. – Breath of Fresh Air Training Facility, Lambeth-based pilates business
• 4:30 p.m. – Yunite, software company offering collaborative software for smaller non profits
5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. – After Party: Winners will be announced
New this year, audience members can vote for their favourite business pitch to win the BizInc People’s Choice Award, audience members will be entered in a draw to win prizes.
