The Original Cakerie celebrated its 35th year anniversary by donating thousands of cakes to charity over the holidays.
The company donated 3,500 layered super-size gourmet cakes (weighing one kilogram each) to food banks and charity organizations throughout Canada.
The Original Cakerie started as a small bakery producing high-quality desserts in Victoria, B.C., in 1979.
The firm grew into a commercial bakery producing premium-quality cakes, bars and brownies served in thousands of grocery store bakeries, restaurants, schools and hospitals throughout North America.
The Original Cakerie opened a $50-million plant on Innovation Dr. in London in 2009.
