Collaborating for success

The local economic impact of industries selecting sites in the city is often talked about in speeches and presentations, but Electrozad Supply Company, an electrical distributor, has been seeing the benefits of London’s industrial expansion first-hand.

“Our business model is service and capacity —we’re built and structured for capacity,” said Dave Kruk, vice president and general manager of Electrozad.

“Electrozad first started in Windsor in 1951, and has been operating in London since 1971. The company operates under a format that allows for local management ownership. Electrozad works with contractors to provide systems including incoming power from the street to the plant, power distribution, lighting and fire alarms to plants in the city.

Electrozad Supply has worked with several companies that recently moved to London — Arvin Sango, Hanwah, Cakerie, CS Autotube, Dr. Oetker and Natra to name a few.

“We continue to support the London Economic Development Corporation for encouraging growth within the London market,” said Jacob Weiche, Sales Manager, Electrozad Supply. “I am sure the employment opportunities for the builds and the operations of these companies has generated current and future benefits for the London economic picture.”

Electrozad’s  involvement with a “new-to-London” company begins much before the facility is even handed to its new owners.

“We service the build from the ground-breaking to when the facility is given to the end user,” said Ajay Chugh, Electrozad’s account representative, who works closely with companies to determine and fulfill the site’s electric needs.

Chugh said Electrozad takes pride in helping customers find the best solutions for their facilities even if it takes some customization and ordering and stocking special products for certain clients.

“It’s all about keeping the clients happy,” he said.

Industrial sales are an integral part of the business for Electrozad, but the company is equally invested in being accessible to smaller companies.  They also service all electrical contractors from the largest through to the residential market. Two locations — one on Industrial Road and one at Nelson and Adelaide — see a high volume of walk-in traffic on a daily basis. The service counters stock a large variety of electrical related products including lamps, fixtures, fuses, panels & breakers, utility cables and various motors.

“When we show people our facility, they are impressed with what we have to offer,” Kruk said.

The company has also worked as a solution provider to several other businesses and institutions in London including Western University, Fanshawe College, and Western Fair District.
