Creating digital products with a difference

It’s a different attitude towards approaching projects and treating their clients that has earned London-born ResIM notoriety in the digital creative industry.

“Something that makes a good product is the willingness to go into (a project) knowing you don’t have all the answers. We get to a prototype quickly and let our clients and their customers tell us if what we plan on producing will meet their needs and solve the problems they have,” said Jonathan Kochis, partner, ResIM.

Celebrating 10 years in 2015, ResIM is quickly becoming a well-known name around London and outside the city. Kochis said business has been steady and the team has been quick in adapting to new technology and keeping up with trends in the digital world.

Known for specializing in digital product development, ResIM is helping redefine the very space they work within. Kochis explains this as helping his clients “build digital products that are a business and not just part of a business.” Adapting to the changing market demands, ResIM has been creating unique web-based and mobile applications for clients including Goodlife Fitness, Trojan Technologies and 3M Canada.  Last year, a virtual orientation program ResIM developed for the London Regional Cancer Care Program won the team a nomination for a Webby Award – the prestigious award in the Internet space. Recently, ResIM joined forces with another local company, Digital Echidna, to rebuild Fanshawe College’s website.

“It’s a good story for London because it’s a great partnership between two local companies working with another local organization to build a very substantial product,” Kochis said.

ResIM employs 14 people many of them are also graduates of Fanshawe College. Kochis said operating in London gives his company access to creative talent. He said he is looking forward to further talent growth with the programs offered at Fanshawe College’s Centre for Digital and Performing Arts in downtown London.  ResIM was one of the companies that attended LEDC organized TechFest London in October 2014. Kochis said the experience was very valuable for the growing company for workforce development purposes.

The coming months pose a busy time for ResIM as the company continues to work alongside some of the most well-known clients in Canada.
