(London, Ontario) Fanshawe College is pleased to announce long-time Governor Crispin Colvin has been appointed Chair of the Fanshawe College Board of Governors for 2012-2013. Mr. Colvin, who has served as First Vice-Chair since September 2010, will take over as chair from Britta Winther in September.
Margaret Nish will serve as First Vice-Chair and Scott Player will remain in his current position as Second Vice-Chair. Together, they will form the Board Process Committee, which plans and sets agendas for regular Board meetings and other functions. The Board Process Committee also plays an important role in budget reviews, the President’s annual appraisal and monitoring the application of Board policies.
“Like all Fanshawe College governors, I became involved because I recognize the value Fanshawe brings to our region and its economy,” Mr. Colvin said. “I am honoured to become Chair and to work with Margaret and Scott, as well as the other great people who sit on the Board with us. We are looking forward to supporting Fanshawe as it continues to grow and serve our community.”
Fanshawe governors are drawn from community and College representatives and selected through an extensive interview and election process. Governors have a three-year term, with the option of adding a second term. This year, the Board is welcoming new members Hugh Mitchell, Susan Rabkin, Margaret Rae and Shawn Sikorski.
The complete Board membership for 2012-2013 includes Corinne Campbell, Crispin Colvin (Chair), Kathy Davis, Brad Duncan, Angela Francolini, Andrew McClenaghan, Hugh Mitchell, Stephanie Montgomery-Graham, Margaret Nish (First Vice-Chair), Scott Player (Second Vice-Chair), Susan Rabkin, Margaret Rae, Dr. Howard Rundle, Shawn Sikorski, Brian Waltham, Kay Wigle and Kate Young.
“We welcome Crispin in his role as Chair and the new governors who will begin their term in September,” said Fanshawe College President Howard Rundle. “They are all experienced community leaders and their insight is incredibly valuable in setting Fanshawe’s course in terms of strategic directions and policy. They play a huge role in the College’s success.”
