Digital Extremes Named One of Canada's Top 100 Employers

LONDON, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Digital Extremes, a leading independent video game development studio, is honored to announce it has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers. Conducted annually by Mediacorp Canada Inc., the Canada's Top 100 List recognizes employers that are industry leaders in attracting and retaining employees. Digital Extremes was awarded one of the Top 100 spots from over 2600 reviewed employers.

"It's an honor to be recognized in this way. To be included as one of the Top 100 alongside the best of the best in Canada is outstanding," said James Schmalz, CEO of Digital Extremes. "Developing games is a massive team effort that requires top notch talent and keeping a positive, healthy, productive culture and work environment is a critical factor in our success and retention of that talent. We are constantly reviewing how we operate to improve recruiting efforts, employee relations, morale and production - it evolves as our games and people do."

For over 16 years, Digital Extremes has developed or co-developed some of the highest regarded games in the industry. Currently, Digital Extremes is working on the hotly anticipated action game, Bioshock? 2 for 2K Games, which is set for release in early 2010.

In its 10th year, the Canada's Top 100 Employers project grades employers in eight key areas: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. This year's full List will be featured in the October 8th edition of Maclean's magazine and the October 9th edition of The Globe and Mail newspaper.
