The Economic Developers Council of Ontario’s (EDCO) Investment Alliance is participating in the world’s largest real estate development trade show and conference this week in Cannes, France. The Alliance is made up of twelve partners from Cities of Brampton, Guelph, Hamilton and Ottawa, Town of Whitby, Kingston Economic Development Corporation, Region of Durham, London Economic Development Corporation, Haldimand County, Perth County, Simcoe County, and the Southwestern Ontario Marketing Alliance. The Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport is also accompanying the group to the event.
The partners are participating in this mission to create investment in their respective regions through promoting their investment opportunities. In addition to the economic development officials, some elected officials will also be participating in a dedicated program for them to meet with municipal officials from around the world.
“On the global stage, Ontario is a very small piece of land from a geographic perspective, even though our GDP is comparable to G7 countries” stated Heather Lalonde, Chief Executive Officer for EDCO, “This is a very efficient way for Ontario communities to work together to promote foreign direct investment in their communities.”
The group will be also be participating in events specific to their communities as well as hosting several international dignitaries in the Ontario Booth.
