It was a double victory for London-based EllisDon Corp. at the recent Canadian Information Productivity Awards (CIPA).
The construction company won the Diamond Award of Excellence for their company-wide deployment of EdgeBuilder, a web-enabled business management system.
As well, EllisDon's chief information officer, Bruce Fleming, was named CIO of the year for 2003.
"We are enormously proud of what our team accomplished in a short time frame," said Fleming of the excellence award. "But that's characteristic of our organization. Great things can be accomplished when the right people are challenged to deliver."
The CIPA honours information technology in all types of organizations across the country.
"EdgeBuilder grew from clearly understanding the needs of our clients and our company and developing a practical solution."
"Our staff and our clients needed a better way of understanding and managing the thousands of pages of documentation associated with a construction project," said Fleming.
The CIPA is one of the largest business awards programs in Canada.
