Fall 2022 WILWorks SWPP funding application now open!

Connecting the Next Generation to Advanced Manufacturing

Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) has just opened the WILWorks SWPP application platform for the Fall 2022 term!  We welcome applications from manufacturing and allied industry employers hosting post-secondary students with a paid work-integrated learning experience as part of their study plan.

Summer 2022 and now Fall 2022 term are currently open to applications from employers.

Since becoming a SWPP delivery partner in the fall of 2020, EMC has approved over 2000 applications from employers hosting your students. Success like this is not possible without the outstanding support of our post-secondary partners.  Thank you for all that you have done educating employers about the program and helping employers and students gather the required documentation to support each WILWorks SWPP application. If you have questions about the WILWorks SWPP eligibility for students or employers, or if we can provide support to the employers you work with, please contact us.

Please note the Government of Canada has removed the temporary relief measures introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. You and the employers you work with can refer to the FAQs and Terms & Conditions documents on the WILWorks SWPP website for a complete list of program changes, including:

  • Students must be enrolled in a program or course where a work placement is part of their study plan. Eligible work experiences can be credit earning or not-for-credit and this is confirmed during the application process
  • The “net new” placement criteria is in place
  • Varying subsidy reimbursements (50% or 70%)
  • Post-secondary education institutions are no longer an eligible employer

Please visit our website to learn more about the program including the latest updates on application status.

Interested employers can complete an application through the WILWorks Platform.

We look forward to supporting employers onboarding WIL students from your institution.
