Fanshawe College is offering a Community Consultancy program in HR and Marketing. This is a free service for local small to medium-sized business. Students take on the role of consultants to help employers resolve a specific problem and at the end of the course provide and present a full analysis and solution to their clients.
Fanshawe will take on any HR or marketing project during the period January 2016 to April 2016. There is no charge and little effort on the part of the organization other than to provide information - the students guided by the faculty, do all of the work at Fanshawe. If necessary, the students can visit the premises but this is not always required. In HR, they have worked on a variety of discrete projects - onboarding, appraisal, writing policy, procedures and forms. In marketing, the students have looked at re-branding or marketing a new start-up. For the last couple of years, they have also had digital marketing students do work for local small businesses.
