London ON – (February 26, 2007) CT Innovation was announced today as the next recipient of the Featured Company Award presented by the London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) and the City of London.
“CT Innovation is pleased to be recognized by the LEDC with this award and as a viable part of the London economic community,” says Dave Hewitt, President of CT Innovation. “Our third and most recent expansion since inception in 2002 had superior support from LEDC and the City of London Realty Services Division. We look forward to many more years of growth as a highly technological and innovative company in tubular solutions and as part of the city’s manufacturing community”.
CT Innovation is a Canadian-based specialized engineering and manufacturing business that supplies formed tubular steel components to the automotive industry. Founded in 2001 by three London area engineers with extensive metal forming experience, CT Innovation now employs 24 production associates at its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, located in London’s recently opened Innovation Park Industrial Area. The 28,000 sq ft facility has been designed to promote innovative lean manufacturing principles and encourage team based collaboration between all employees.
The company currently manufacturers over 6 million tubular based components annually for use in applications such as dashboard instrument panel beams, seat adjusters, and body structure assemblies for Ford, Honda, and DaimlerChrysler. Local automotive clients in London include Brose Canada and Kaiser Aluminum. CT Innovation’s significant business growth has been bolstered by a total commitment to quality in all aspects of its business operations. This is exemplified by CT Innovation’s significant achievement of 5 consecutive years with a world-class quality performance rating of 100% defect free supply to its customers.
The company also attributes a large part of its budding success to geographical location and its close partnerships with a core group of strategic equipment suppliers located in the London region. The area is quickly developing into a centre of excellence for advanced manufacturing and the company highly values the benefits of being located in the hub of Southwestern Ontario’s automotive rich corridor.
Company President Dave Hewitt, General Manager Chris Campbell, and Engineering Manager Mark Hamacher, will receive a commemorative plaque from Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco at the city council meeting on March 5.
