(London, ON) – KL, a leader in food processing automation has chosen London for a new 26,500 sq. ft. Production and Technology Centre.
KL has been an innovator in the food processing industry from the development of the first automatic chick shell separator, more than two decades ago, through to being the first in Canada to develop vision guided robotic technology for direct food handling applications.
“KL adds regional strength in the agri-food processing sector,” explains Peter White, President and CEO of the London Economic Development Corporation, “With 87 companies and 7000 workers in this sector, we are proud to announce growth in an industry that has been thriving and evolving with our city.”
Located on 3.5 acres of land in Innovation Park - Phase 1, KL’s investment will add 50 jobs to the park’s growing cluster of food-processing and advanced manufacturing operations. “Locating in London’s Innovation Park gives us the advantage of being in a region well-known for its agri-food strength. We’re also benefiting from proximity to customers and an infrastructure that can move our products around the world,” notes Patrick Poulin, President of KL.
KL’s London investment will support the development of advanced automation, technology for the food industry as well as the design and production of the automation systems bound for use in food processing plants around the world.
