The Grassroots Goods Gallery presents its first exhibition: Crones and Conjurers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

LONDON, ONTARIO, NOVEMBER 6, 2018 - The Grassroot Goods Gallery, which opened its doors October 1st in the newly established artist & small business incubator that is The Baker’s Dozen (613 Dundas St. East), is an up-and-coming gallery and gift shop. It regularly features 13 local artists and craftsmen who make everything from essential oils and soaps, to voodoo dolls, jewelry, pyrography, paintings, stained glass and pottery.

Crones and Conjurers aspires to be the first of many art exhibits run by the gallery. The event, run by local multidisciplinary artist Emilia Wilson of the Grassroot Goods Gallery, hopes to engage the Old East Village residents and the greater arts community of London, Ontario with a priority towards accessibility, inclusivity, and open dialogue. Their goal is to help build and sustain the creative, vibrant community of the already flourishing art scene in the Old East Village. Wilson is currently seeking artists of all kinds to display their work at the event. She is hoping to attract a myriad of artists who will display everything including but not limited to paintings, photography, mixed media, printmaking, installations, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, and performance art. Crones and Conjurers is to represent regional contemporary emerging and mid-career artists whose work reveals the magic of life, the occult, the strange, the weird, as well as oddities and curiosities.

The event is part of a larger series which make up the Grand Opening of the Baker’s Dozen. Festivities for the Baker’s Dozen start Saturday, November 17 at 10:00 AM and run until 9:00 PM – with a meet-the-artists reception happening running from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The event is free to attend and will be offering snacks and refreshments to its patrons. Art works will be for sale, so don’t forget to bring your checkbook! The exhibit runs until Friday, November 30, 2018.
