Highview Selects Akira Systems to enhance implementation of Retirement Home Act

London, ON Oct. 4, 2012 - Highview Residences will unveil their plans to use Wavelength 3.0 to enhance their reporting and documentation processes associated with compliance with the Retirement Home Act, which came into force on July 1, 2012.  Highview Residences has established itself as a leader in delivering Excellence in Alzheimer, Elder and Respite Care to the people of London and the surrounding area.  Wavelength will support this focus by automating the documentation and reporting requirements of the Act.  Beyond compliance, Wavelength will enable Highview’s service model to extend beyond the London cachement  as the company executes its plans for growth over the next 3 to 5 year horizon.

The Wavelength 3.0 platform is the next generation of Akira’s Workforce Management solution since its debut with the 2.0 release at The University of Western Ontario.  The 3.0 platform will include two new modules including a Resident Manager for tracking resident information care.

The second new module is the Facility and Grounds Manager, which will also support inventory control. Taken together the two modules will seamlessly capture and report on the multitude of details required by the new Retirement Home Act.

Kirk Summers, COO of Highview Residences, will chair an Executive Round table event at Highview’s Chapin House on Thursday, October 4th at which he will invite other elder and specialized care leaders to join a Community of Practice established around Wavelength.  Akira Systems will demonstrate the contemporary new User Interface (UI) that will debut in Wavelength 3.0.  The UI is inspired by the "Metro" design which is featured in the Microsoft Windows 8 release.  "Metro" is based on the design principles of classic Swiss graphic design.  Ashraf Ghadban, Akira CEO said “We are excited to be work with the executive team at Highview, who strive for excellence in everything they do!”
