Hire One Website Reaches 1000th Hit

(London, ON) – , “HIRE ONE”, a campaign to engage employers and celebrate job growth in London, reached its 1000th employment post today, marking a milestone in the initiative that was launched only a month ago.

HIRE ONE is an endeavour that was recommended by Councillor Paul Hubert to the London City Council. HIRE ONE is a partnership between the City of London, LEDC, and Employment Sector Council of London Middlesex, Human Resource Professional London and District, Links 2 Work, and the London Public Library.

HIRE ONE is a call to action for companies that have hired to share their successful employment activities, for those who are looking to hire to announce career postings, and for individuals looking for a job. HIRE ONE celebrates and promotes job growth in London by allowing local companies to hire one additional employee through the online provision of resources such as information about available programming, training, and access to a variety of local services. The HIRE ONE website, www.hireonelondon.ca, has garnered nearly 2300 views in less than 4 weeks, with the portal being built to work with the city’s main employment agencies to aggregate materials related to hiring or entering the workforce.

The LEDC’s Director of Workforce Development, Robert Collins, is proud of all that Hire One has achieved so far: “Hire One is a bold campaign that promotes and celebrates local job growth. London employers are responding to Hire One, which is helping this initiative get off to a great start. As the promotion of the Hire One portal continues, we look forward to sharing more information on the hiring activity that happens every day in our community.”

For more information, please visit www.hireonelondon.ca to see employers who have recently hired, where companies may register their postings, and to discover the many resources to help employers “hire one,” under the “I’m hiring” application. If you or someone you know is looking for work, the “I’m looking” application is a great starting point.
