London, ON – April 23, 2007 – Info-Tech Research Group has been recognized by Canadian Business magazine as one of the "Best Workplaces in Canada" for 2007. The issue of Canadian Business that hits newsstands today publicizes the top 50 list which is based on an independent assessment by the Great Place to Work® Institute.
Info-Tech, an Information Technology research firm providing research and analysis to enterprises as well as vendor programs and consulting services, is based in London, Ontario and has a satellite office in downtown Toronto. Despite being one of North America's fastest-growing full-service IT analyst firms with 185 employees, Info-Tech maintains a culture of caring amongst employees and in the community, as recognized by Canadian Business magazine.
'When companies focus on the well-being of their employees, great business results follow because everyone is investing their best efforts" said Joel McLean, CEO, President and founder of Info-Tech Research Group. "At Info-Tech, where quality research and customer satisfaction are key to success, it’s our employees who make the difference."
The list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled for Canadian Business magazine by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada following the same methodology developed by the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco. That methodology is also used by Fortune magazine in the U.S., The Financial Times in the U.K. and 30 other countries around the world. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a survey completed by a random selection of employees (or all employees in smaller companies), along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a thorough assessment of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall view of the workplace culture. Together, they provide data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. More than 20,000 employees in companies across Canada participated in the survey.
