The LMLIP Welcoming Workplace Award honours small to medium-sized employers in London and Middlesex who provide meaningful career opportunities for immigrants and foster inclusivity. If you know an employer making a positive impact, submit your nomination by December 6, 2024. The award will be presented at the All Are Welcome Here event in February.
Eligibility to Nominate:
This award is available to nominees from LMLIP Central Council, Sub-Council and Work Group Members, LMLIP staff, community partners, employers, newcomers and other agencies/organizations that support employment of newcomers and immigrants (see note below) to Canada.
About the London Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP):
The London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership (LMLIP) is a collaborative community initiative designed to strengthen the role of our community in serving and integrating immigrants. LMLIP is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and co-led by the City of London and a community member.
Nomination Process:
This completed nomination form must be submitted no later than December 6, 2024.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Welcoming Workplace Selection Committee.
The selected nominee will be notified by the Selection Committee Chair and be invited to attend the LMLIP All Are Welcome Here event on February 26, 2025 to receive the award. All nominees will receive free publicity on social media channels and other media outlets.
Criteria:
- Is a small to medium sized employer from the For or Not-For profit sectors (fewer than 100 employees);
- Demonstrates actively employing immigrants for three or more years as part of their diverse and inclusionary workforce;
- Offers meaningful employment and career growth opportunities;
- Contributes to the community in a positive way;
- Demonstrates an outreach approach to connecting with newcomer and immigrant talent and/or;
- Uses not-for-profit employment support agencies for assistance in recruitment immigrant talent.
