London ON, July 28: Nectro Inc., a new company enthusiastic about creating novel nano-materials, just launched their crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter this week.
Launched by Tengyuan Zhang in 2015, Nectro Inc. is seeking $50,000 to manufacture and bring to market their first product, the Nectro pen: a conductive ink pen with a complete tool set for beginners to build their first circuit. The main applications for the Nectro pen are educational; the team aims to lower barriers to circuit learning through an easy and enjoyable user experience. Similarly to drawing with a traditional ink pen, the Nectro allows users to trace a circuit template with transparent film.
Nectro Inc., originated from the Micro-Nano-Bio Systems Lab at Western University and the team receives mentorship and support from Western’s Entrepreneurship Centre, Propel. “We are very proud of the product our team has built and for the many applications we can explore with the Nectro” says Tengyuan Zhang, Co-founder of Nectro Inc. “The response has been very positive and optimistic throughout our testing phase and we are ready to bring our product to market.”
The crowdfunding campaign for Nectro Inc. will go live through Kickstarter on August 4, 2015. Those interested in supporting the campaign will have a range of pledge and perk options to choose from. The Kickstarter promotion will end on September 3, 2015 and will operate as an all-or-nothing campaign; the Nectro team will only receive funds if they reach the full $50,000 goal.
