London ON – (June 11, 2006) London-based Frescos & Company today announced the opening of its second retail store which will be situated in Burlington, Ontario. Located in the new Appleby Crossing retail plaza at the corner of Appleby Line and Dundas St., the store will open in Fall 2006.
“Our first store has already surpassed all of our expectations,” says Michael Sartor, President of Frescos. “The London market has been extremely responsive to the Frescos concept and our products. Our goal is to now replicate that success in the greater Toronto area with this first store in Burlington.”
Frescos offers fresh pre-packaged ready-to-cook meals that can be cooked in anywhere from 6 to 25 minutes. All the products are hand prepared by a team of experienced chefs in the company’s production kitchen. The selection includes stir frys, entrees, salad blends, side dishes and children’s meals.
“Our products fill the gap between frozen entrees and fully prepared foods,” says Sartor.
“Consumers are hungry for healthy options that provide them with the pride and ownership of creating a meal themselves rather than simply reheating a precooked meal.”
The first Frescos retail operation opened on March 27th in London, Ontario. With no other fresh, pre-packaged ready-to-cook meal products on the market in North America, the company plans to expand across Canada and the US within the next 12 to 18 months.
