London Chamber of Commerce Statement Regarding COVID-19 Precautions

Attention Members:

After careful consideration and extensive consultation over the last 30 days, regarding the COVID-19 issue, the Board of Directors of the London Chamber of Commerce, following the criteria and guidelines set out by Public Health Canada, the World Health Organization, and Public Health Ontario will postpone all Chamber events and gatherings of 25 people or more for a period of 30 days effective immediately.

The Chamber will recalibrate its position after 30 days to determine next steps and whether there remains a need to extend those postponements for an additional 30-day period.

These postponements, unfortunately include the London Business Achievement Awards scheduled for March 25th, 2020 at RBC Place.
We will be working with our partners at RBC Place to secure possible dates for the rescheduling of the Business Awards over the next several months.

We view these postponements as prudent and in the interest of public safety.

The Chamber along with our local health professionals remain optimistic that the risk of contracting COVID-19 in London remains low and we would urge all members and the wider business community to remain calm, to seek out factual, scientific information only, and to the best of their ability try to conduct business as usual.

In that regard, the Chamber will continue to provide current, fact-based information to its members and the wider community on risk-informed decision making during the COVID-19 global outbreak and we will distribute this information as it becomes available. It is our intention to follow the recommendations of the Middlesex London Health Unit and we will share those recommendations with you as they become available.

We thank all of our sponsors, ticket holders and show vendors for their patience and understanding and we remain optimistic that our awards gala will take place within this calendar year as events unfold and dates become available.
