London Company Flying under the Radar Screen for over 20 years. AV-BASE Systems expands to new facility

LONDON, Ontario - With over 20 years of experience developing maintenance and inventory control systems, and supporting more than 220 clients worldwide, AV-BASE Systems is the leader in aviation management software. And they are moving into new space at the London Airport to accommodate their growth.

AV-BASE Systems is known for its WinAir series of software products. WinAir is widely recognized as the easiest-to-use, most structurally integrated and most affordable system for handling aviation maintenance and inventory control.

AV-BASE was founded in 1982 by partners Helen and Bert Vergeer who continue to manage the company today. Twenty-five years later, with a team of software developers, software engineers, system consultants, system implementation specialists, technical writers, technical support specialists, technical trainers and sales consultants, AV-BASE has grown to accommodate the aviation maintenance and inventory needs of a wide variety of customers around the world. These customers include domestic and foreign governments, airlines, charter services, maintenance facilities, colleges, emergency medical services, law enforcement agencies and foreign oil industry suppliers.

The London team has grown to over 35 people, with relevant aviation, system design and development experience. Many employees have experience working on fixed and rotary wing aircraft in Canada, the US and internationally, as well as experience maintaining Quality Assurance Programs, overseeing production management, managing inventory and maintenance records, purchasing, budgeting and job costing. Many are Western and Fanshawe graduates.

"We are very excited to be expanding in London, almost doubling our size, and attribute our success to our skilled and dedicated employees," says Bert Vergeer, Vice President.

AV-BASE expects to add another 10 employees by the end of next year, and their renovated space in the Air Canada Jazz building at London's International Airport is ready to accommodate them.

"We have a dozen employees that travel all over the world to train our customers but we also invite them to come to London" adds Vergeer. "Our spacious training facility, direct flights to North American cities from the London Airport and nearby hotels, accommodates the needs of our clients".

Peter White, President and CEO of the London Economic Development Corporation says, "London is well known for its manufacturing expertise in the trains, planes and automobile industry and so much more". AV-BASE Systems is another example of "so much more" -- a successful London technology company, quietly growing, and contributing to the growth of London's economy. White added "we are pleased that the Vergeers are committed to growing their company in London and look forward to watching and supporting their growth in the future."
