LONDON, Ontario – London is a leader in the research that will lead to tomorrow’s medical breakthroughs.On March 20th, more than 350 students and trainees will be showcasing their work at London Health Research Day at the London Convention.This new event is hosted by Lawson Health Research Institute and Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.More than 650 people are expected to attend, making this the largest multi-disciplinary research day in Ontario.
Student research is answering pressing questions like whether taking ginseng affects fertility or pregnancy, or what treatments make breast cancer cells easier to kill.In all, the research spans 13 different themes including children’s health, aging, biomedical imaging, surgical innovation, cancer and mental health.
The participants represent labs at Western, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London.The students and trainees will be on hand to explain the findings through posters and live presentations.We invite you to join us as we celebrate this collaborative partnership.
