London Ranked in Trivago’s Top Ten
Best Value Canadian Cities for 2016
(London, ON) – Tourism London is thrilled to announce that trivago, the world’s largest online hotel search site, has ranked London, Ontario as one of two Ontario cities in their Top Ten Best Value Index for 2016. With an average hotel rating of 78.58/100 and an average hotel price per night of $120, London and Niagara on the Lake are the only Ontario cities in the top ten.
“London is a destination for sports, arts, culture, entertainment and conventions. Trivago’s announcement once again verifies that London is excellent value for visitors and event planners,” said John Winston, General Manager of Tourism London.
Increasingly more Canadians are opting to travel closer to home. In 2015, searches by Canadians on trivago for hotels in Canada increased by 9% when compared to last year, marking a sharp rise in domestic travel interest.

The trivago Best Value Index ranks cities based on a combination of consumer ratings and average hotel prices with 100% being the top score. It provides a unique overview of the best valued destinations by using a specifically tailored algorithm that combines the trivago Hotel Price Index with trivago’s Reputation Ranking for hotels. Only destinations with at least 30 hotels and a minimum average of 150 user ratings per hotel were considered in this index.
