London thanks delegates for a successful AMO Conference in Canada’s City of Music

As the 2023 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference wraps up, the City of London would like to thank the over 2,400 delegates for visiting Canada’s City of Music – at AMO’s largest conference in its history. Over the past few days, attendees heard from thought leaders and industry experts including announcements from the Premier and Provincial leaders.

London was represented by Mayor Josh Morgan, Deputy Mayor Shawn Lewis, Budget Chair Elizabeth Peloza and Councillor Anna Hopkins (London’s AMO board member) along with other members of Council.

Throughout the four-day conference there were hundreds of delegation meetings on a variety of municipal priorities like housing, health and homelessness and economic development. London engaged with close to 20 Provincial Ministers and party leaders and met alongside many municipal colleagues and decision makers. On the last day of the conference, Mayor Morgan showcased London’s first-of-its-kind Health and Homelessness Whole of Community System Response as an innovative model of care to support London’s most marginalized populations.

“We are proud to say we hosted AMO’s largest conference ever, right here in London,” said Mayor Josh Morgan. “London is looked to as a leader in many innovative approaches to tackling common issues, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share the work happening in our city.”

During the conference, London also highlighted everything our community has to offer, including signature events, study tours and local experiences. The conference’s local host committee includes the City of London, Tourism London and RBC Place London. The event injected more than $3 million into the local economy and showcased over 25 local artists.

The next AMO Conference will be held in Ottawa in 2024 and returns to London in the summer of 2027.
