London based Trade Network Exchange is now the London Barter Network!
Bryan Bakker, founder, and owner of Bizbio Inc. a local video production company that has been producing commercial content for regional clients for over 10 years, has just acquired The Trade Network Exchange from retiring company founder Bill Bradley.
Bakker said, “I’ve been a member of the exchange since 2012 and have used it to great effect over the years to build my portfolio and get the goods and services my business needs to grow while preserving the cash, I need to keep the lights on.”
Bill Bradley joked that his words will be very familiar to current membership, “Barter really is the best kept secret for small and medium sized businesses in the London region. Keep your cash and spend your excess capacity or sell overstock, at full retail prices, to new customers, then use those trade dollars to buy the things you need for your business from other members. I’ve seen those, who have learned how to use barter over the years, realize amazing benefits.”
When asked why a business should consider joining this new London Barter Network, Bakker answered: “Three reasons. One, London Barter Network does not just talk about supporting local. Our business model makes it smart business for our members to buy local, using trade dollars instead of cash. Two, trade dollars are more secure than cash because we do not deal in cash. Even if a hacker could get in, is he going to use his stolen trade dollars in one of our member businesses? Not likely. And three, London Barter Network keeps almost every penny of economic activity generated through the network local, thereby cutting out online sales giants like Amazon and big box titans like Walmart. Everything about our network is about working together and thriving as a community and we’re just getting started.”
With new branding and new banking software, furnished by global powerhouse VirtualBarter, the London Barter Network is set to expand rapidly as our economy bounces back from the pandemic.
“Barter makes sense in any economic climate,” said Bradley, “but in uncertain times like the times we are in now it’s even more true. We need to band together as local businesses and make sure we are supporting one another. That’s what the Trade Network Exchange, and now the London barter Network, is all about.”
