New resources at LEDC to focus on main business growth strategies

March 30, 2005 The London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) today announced new resources dedicated to the corporation's focus on business attraction and growth in the life sciences and manufacturing sectors. Lesley Cornelius returns to the LEDC as Director, Business Development for life sciences. Her primary role will be on attracting new investment in this sector as well as working with existing businesses in terms of their growth opportunities. "Lesley's return to the LEDC is an important step in our plans to work aggressively to develop the life sciences cluster in the London economy," said John Kime, LEDC President & CEO, "She will take on all the responsibilities for the development and execution of the LEDC strategies in this sector." Heather Pilot continues her role as Director, Business Development and will focus primarily on business attraction in the manufacturing sector. "Heather has made a very significant contribution to the development of the Life Sciences cluster over the last 6 years, and will now apply her expertise and skills to working on attraction initiatives in the manufacturing sector," said Kime. The LEDC is a public/private partnership between the City of London and the private sector. Contracted by the city to provide economic development services, the LEDC's goal is to attract new investments and grow existing investments in our community.
