New Third Party Distribution Centre for London

London ON – (December 20, 2004) A Tier I, third party distribution centre, servicing the food industry, has invested more than $7 million in a new facility in London and created 18 new jobs in the Forest City. Opened in June 2004, Liberty Freezers is the second multi-temperature distribution centre established by the Liberty Group in the past twelve months. The company now operates two Ontario-based facilities in Newmarket and London. Conveniently located at Airport Road and Trafalgar Rd close to Highway 401 and the London International Airport, the London operation of Liberty Freezers provides multi temperature warehousing and distribution 24 hours a day, five days a week; inventory and transportation management; export documentation and handling; container loading and unloading; cross docking, load consolidation; repacking, relabeling, and product tempering. Located on a 20-acre campus, the facility features more than 1.8 million cubic feet of temperature controlled space, over 2 million cubic feet of climate controlled space, a temperature controlled dock zone loading area, a fully secured yard and approximately 14,000 square feet of available office space. In addition, 15 acres of land is available for custom design expansion projects. “We are very pleased to establish a London facility,” says John Diduck, President of Liberty Freezers. “This is a strategic location that will allow our customers in southwestern Ontario to streamline their supply chain without making a large capital investment. We see tremendous potential in London and we look forward to working with the business community to best serve their third party warehousing needs as well as developing our relationship with the London Economic Development Corporation.” According to Heather Pilot, Director of Business Development at the LEDC, this facility provides a value add service to many businesses in the area and is a dedicated contract provider for major North American food processors. “They are unique because they are one of the few distribution centres with HACCP program in place.” HACCP (pronounced has-sip) stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points. It is a regulatory process designed to prevent hazards to the food supply and to protect public health. -30- For more information, please contact: John Diduck President Liberty Freezers 519-453-4131 Heather Pilot Director, Business Development London Economic Development Corporation 519-661-4957
