London, ON (May 5,2011) The London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) in partnership with TechAlliance, UnLondon and LondonFUSE, showcased their made-in-London digital distribution channel webcasting live from their exhibition space at Canada 3.0.
London’s open source platform for digital content distribution streamed 18 hours of content from Canada 3.0 on May 3rd and 4th, 2011 and continues to stream at www.ldn30.com/livestream . The platform, assembled using pre-existing open and freely available tools by UnLondon, enables live webcast and the distribution of pre-cut content. Streaming live from four websites and two facebook accounts, the feed has been viewed by Canada 3.0 delegates and the broader digital community on computers, laptops, iPads, iPhones, BlackBerry devices, including Playbooks.
Content for the London 3.0 stream is being produced onsite at Canada 3.0 and throughout Stratford by a team of innovators from TechAlliance, LondonFUSE and the London Economic Development Corp. (LEDC).
“This unique, open platform allows the LEDC and its partners to highlight the innovative approach to digital media content creation and distribution being developed in London,” says Peter White, President & CEO of the LEDC. “The quality of content created and the quality of distribution across our platform indicates the level of sophistication.”
“The key waterline for me is always the level of creativity that content creators are enabled to work using the technology, and how rapidly they’re able to iterate their learnings from the live experience,” states Adam Caplan, President of UnLondon. “In both cases, the platform effortlessly achieved these marks.”
