Our accessible employment forum brings together employers, community support partners and students for an engaging evening of networking, professional development, and conversation.

** Set-up will be available from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m., programming will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Join us for an engaging evening of conversation and professional development. 
The hirewesternuAbility Accessible Employment Forum serves as an opportunity to learn from leaders in accessible employment and inclusive workplaces. This event features an insightful keynote address, an informative speaker panel, employers exhibiting with a focus on accessible hiring, and various networking opportunities between students, employers, and community organizations. 

Designed as an all-inclusive event, our Accessible Employment Forum will allow you to increase your visibility with Western students while engaging with like-minded organizations and leaders in disability advocacy and employment inclusivity.

Call for participation:
You can get involved in this event by:  

  • Attending as a Welcomed Guest 
    • You are invited as a welcomed guest to hear from our keynote speaker and panel discussions and network with talented Western students. Opening remarks, a word from our keynote speaker and our community organization panel session will be offered in hybrid format via Zoom, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. 
  • Becoming a Panel Speaker:  
    • We invite you to be a speaker on our panel, highlighting community impact, organizational impact and benefits for those with lived experience. If you are interested in this opportunity to be part of our 40-minute speaker panel - we would love to have you. I 
  • Employer Exhibiting:   
    • We would like to invite employers to set up booth space that focuses on accessibility-focused recruiting. This will allow you a place to network and hire talented Western Students.  

This event features a hybrid keynote presentation and panel discussion from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. ASL interpreters will be available in person throughout the evening. Light refreshments will be served. 

If you are unable to join us in person and would prefer to attend virtually, please indicate so in your registration form. Note that the networking portion of the evening is in-person only.  

About the Weldon Library Community Room:  
This year's event will be hosted in the Weldon Community Room. Weldon Library is located in a building beside the University Community Centre (UCC)  on the first floor in a newly renovated accessible space. Parking information will be sent with confirmation of registration.
