Sciencetech Inc. had a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new plant in London

LONDON, Ontario - On April 17, 2009 Sciencetech Inc. had a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new plant in London today. Sciencetech is a privately owned, Canadian company, with 20 medium and small investors.

The City of London Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco-Best brought greetings on behalf of the city to the ribbon cutting ceremony. "My colleagues and I are very pleased to be here celebrating your new expansion in London. Your investment demonstrates your long term commitment to our community and we wish you continued growth and success."

The new facility was possible with the support of its shareholders, who were able to bring in new investment, and the support of the Royal Bank of Canada who has been its corporate bank for over 20 years.

Sciencetech Inc. (SCI) has been designing and manufacturing in the field of optics and spectroscopy in London since 1985. Gil Levy, President and main designer behind much of the equipment developed by SCI, remarked today "it is very gratifying to be an example of High Tech success in this city".

This year Sciencetech received two main recognitions, the London Chamber of Commerce 2009 "Global Traders Innovation" Achievement Award as a small business trading through representatives in more than 30 countries around the world; and the City of London 2009 Race Relations Recognition Award, Business and Labour Category in recognition of its actions in employing a diverse workforce and promoting an inclusive workplace culture. volume production of dedicated equipment, offering great value for its customers and an important contribution toward green technologies and related environmental research.

SCI expresses its special thanks to the LEDC for all its support for the new facility, as well as to the many other government agencies and programs that have helped them throughout the years. Their assistance played an important part in keeping this example of High Tech in London a reality.
