Beer stores will be selling a new Labatt's drink next month. SHOK will blend Labatt Blue with the aroma of berries and guarana, a herb containing caffeine.
The beer was invented at the brewery's centre for innovation. Labatt is the first major brewer in the country to introduce a beer with the berry and caffeine combination.
Sold in 250-milli-litre cans, the brew contains 6.9 per cent alcohol by volume, the alcohol-per-serving equivalent of a regular bottle of beer. It will be priced at $7.95 for a four-pack of the slim cans and will also be available at retail stores where alcohol is sold.
