United Way kicks off 2023 community campaign with Harvest Lunch

The 3M Harvest Lunch and United Way 2023 Community Campaign Launch returns Tuesday, September 19 at RBC Place London and Thursday, September 21 at the Horton Farmers’ Market in St. Thomas.

The event is expected to draw hundreds of people united for good and for good food.

Every $20 ticket buys a meal for the attendee and a meal for a neighbour in need. Ten partner agencies will use these pay-it-forward funds to support local food programs.

As the region’s largest non-government funder of social services, United Way Elgin Middlesex supports 52 programs at 40 local agencies that work to reduce and prevent poverty. United Way also provides basic needs and housing stability for more than 65,000 people.

“When we gather for a meal, we’re celebrating connection,” said Kelly Ziegner, President and CEO of United Way Elgin Middlesex. “Today, as many people on the margins feel disconnected, 3M Harvest Lunch & United Way Campaign Launch unites friends and colleagues to say emphatically that everyone in this community matters.”

The event will officially launch the United Way’s 2023 Community Campaign.
