“The CCMA is thrilled to be heading to London in 2016. The way the London community has rallied to host Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards Show is surely a sign of how great the event will be next year. We hope you have a great viewing party, and kick off the Road to London like we know you can,” said Don Green, President of the Canadian Country Music Association.
Country Music Week began in 1977 as an annual event to heighten awareness and increase exposure for Canada’s country music artists. The event has evolved over the years to include not only an industry conference, but also a series of public events that bring country music artists and fans together for a collection of unforgettable moments. Fan-friendly events range from a Legends Show that pays tribute to some of Canada’s most cherished country artists, a FanFest which gets fans up-close to today’s biggest Canadian country stars, a Songwriters’ Series that has artists describing how and why they wrote the songs fans know and love, and more.

About The RizDales: Led by husband and wife songwriting team Tom and Tara Dunphy, the Rizdales are a hardcore honky tonk band from London, ON. Their sound however, comes from deep in the heart of the American south. Heavily influenced by the classic country greats, such as Ray Price, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn, The RizDales sing about love, loss, and reality without ever taking themselves too seriously. They have released 5 critically acclaimed albums, were handpicked by the Queen of Rockabilly Wanda Jackson to be her Canadian backing band. They’ve played festivals, hole in the wall bars and concert halls from Ottawa to Austin, performing alongside such greats as Dale Watson, The Derailers, The Mavericks, and The Good Brothers, earmarking their place in Canadian roots music history. http://www.rizdales.com/
About Genevieve Fisher: As one of Canada's brightest young rising country performers, Genevieve seemed destined to excite audiences from a very young age. At the age of 2, upon winning her first singing competition, the announcer prophetically proceeded to tell the audience that they will be hearing from young Genevieve in the future. No truer words may have been spoken. Now 22 years of age, the London Ontario native, continues to forge a career which has caused country fans and industry insiders to stand up and take notice. Although her first 3 radio releases all hit Canada's top 100, it wasn't until the summer of 2012 that Genevieve achieved her first national hit. Her springtime release "July,” a song she co-wrote with Nashville songwriter Jennifer Schott, was heard on over 60 stations across Canada, peaking at #41 on the Country Charts. http://www.genevievefisher.ca
About Them Dang Rattlers: Them Dang Rattlers are a country/rock band from London, ON. Comprised of members all who come from extensive musical and touring backgrounds in multiple genres, these cowboys have the chops, the knowledge and the talent to get things done pronto!
Them Dang Rattlers started writing and demoing music in the middle of 2013, and quickly came up with the single "This Ol' Town" as their first piece of music that would be revealed to the public. A music video was eventually made for the track, which was entered into London Ontaro’s 98.1 Free FM "Under the Covers” contest, and by votes, ended up winning the monthly held contest in December of 2013. The band was awarded $4,000 in recording time at the revered EMAC Studios in London, ON.
Early 2014, Them Dang Rattlers went into the studio and recorded two tracks, "Little Devil," and "Tuesday Night." The quality and outcome of these two tracks were beyond what the band had imagined, and have been garnering attention nationwide, as well as internationally ever since. As a result, the band started to see show offers, including the 2014 Lachie Music Festival, the 2014 Rockin’ Wheel Festival, as well as many of their own live performances throughout Southwestern Ontario, surrounding these festivals. Later in 2014, while playing the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, ON, the band had sparked the interest of The Agency Group (booking agency), and it quickly resulted in the signing a deal with two of their top booking agents. The partnership has placed Them Dang Rattlers’ live show in front of many new faces, performing live for the Rogers Hometown Hockey Festivals in London, ON and St. Catherines, ON, a 2015 CMW showcase at the Dakota Tavern, opening slots for Monster Truck and Emerson Drive, and has landed the band on the 2015 Boots & Hearts Musical Festival. http://www.themdangrattlers.com/
